Our Story
Danielle and Cameron met in the summer of 2016.
Unbeknownst to both of them, they had a pretty big chance to meet several years prior.
In September of 2013, both of them were at the wedding of two of their dearest friends, Kira and Johnny. Danielle was a bridesmaid. Cam was not.
In 2016, Tinder introduced them to each other. Seeing that they had these mutual friends, their curiosity became the beginning of their story.
And the rest, as they say, is history. ☀️
Who is Cameron?
Cam was born in Los Angeles, but his family moved all over the country as he was growing up. After a four-year stint as an aircraft mechanic in the United States Air Force, he finally found his true home in Madison, Wisconsin.
When he started using Tinder, he had one rule for himself: “If somebody doesn’t fill out their profile, they probably aren’t interesting.” Because he’s a nerd, Cam’s profile went overboard on the extra information, like his Myers-Briggs type indicator.
Cam broke his rule when he saw Danielle’s profile, which simply had one ridiculous Anchorman quote: “60% of the time, it works every time.”
Never one to make a rule without breaking something, Cam justifies why he swiped right: “She was really cute.”
It turns out that the two had mutual friends that had married each other a few years prior. Danielle was a bridesmaid in their wedding, and Cam was in attendance. They didn’t meet that night.
When the two fated lovebirds finally met on Tinder and had their first date, Cam was a nervous wreck (and he was running late). It’s even more shocking that the date managed to go so well from the very beginning.
Danielle and Cam ended up going on many more dates after that. 🙃
Who is Danielle?
Danielle grew up in Verona, a suburb of Madison, and after graduating from UW Madison, she lived in Chicago for eight years while working for Planned Parenthood. Longing for a car, a dog, and a backyard to match, she moved back to Madison in the spring of 2016.
After several failed online dating attempts in Chicago, she vowed to never again invest a significant amount of time into crafting the perfect dating profile. Years of experience taught her that people really only look at the pictures, so she simply wrote the most accurate quote depicting modern day dating apps: "60% of the time, it works every time."
Shortly after setting up her account, she came across Cam's profile. She found him very cute and was intrigued by his rare yet identical to her own Myers-Briggs combination.
When she discovered he was friends with some of the best people on planet earth, she swiped whatever way you swipe when you think the person is cute.
After several weeks of texting, and one mutually canceled first date, they agreed to meet at the Robin Room on a beautiful summer night. Danielle arrived uncharacteristically early and was waiting at the bar when Cam walked in. After saying hello, the first thing out of her mouth was, “Oh, good, you don't have a weird voice!"
He only found this to be a little odd, and settled in for a drink and, as it turns out, a lifetime of weird Dani comments.
